I have been teaching at WE-Bridge International for two and a half years. I consider myself to be incredibly fortunate because it is a pleasure to go to work each day, not everyone can say that. Teaching is something I really enjoy, it is very rewarding watching our students make progress and develop their confidence with English. As a language learner myself I understand the difficulties that students face but also the pleasure experienced when you are able to communicate with someone. My goal as a teacher is not just to enable my students to speak English, but to enjoy using the language.
My background before teaching is varied. I started out in life as a Medical Photographer and went on to work in photography for many years, including working as a Wedding Photographer and working in the processing side of things. I also trained as a Pharmacy Dispenser and worked in a high street Pharmacy. I’ve also worked in offices and in Management and Training. I feel that the varied background enables me to have broader knowledge and experience which I can put to good use within the classroom.
Outside of work my interests are many and varied and as Cardiff is so well situated there are many activities on offer. I especially enjoy reading, gardening and cooking. We love to have friends around for a meal and I try out new recipes on them, fortunately they are still our friends! My husband and I love going to the beach where we enjoy surfing and barbecuing, and cycling along the Taff trail. We also attempt to teach ourselves to play guitar, badly, ask the cat!
